JPEG & VISTA FAQ

These are things fellow dog-walkers and potential adopters might want to know about the puddleducks.

Q: What kind of dogs are they?
A: One of them is a black puppy with long hair. The other one is a black puppy with long hair and short legs.

Q: Why do you call them puddleducks?
A: You don't want to know.

Q: Are they house-trained?
A: J-PEG: If you station a worried-look-spotter at each door to spot the worried look and open the door quickly, Yes.
A: VISTA: In light of the fact that as I typed "...ned?" she squatted and peed on the rug right in my peripheral vision, I would have to say No.
However: (1) J-peg consistently goes to the door and looks worried when he has to pee. (2) Vista consistently looks up and stops peeing when I yell, Hey! whereas she used to blissfully think I was talking to someone else.

Q: How much to they eat?
A: How much do you have?

Q: How are they with standard commands?
A:
(1) OFF: J-peg - Because his legs are too short to get ON, he has no need to get OFF. Vista - "What's that you say? There are treats up here?"
(2) SIT: Yes.
(3) WAIT: Yes
(4) COME: Every second time. Every other time, they get COME confused with the lesser-known but similar-sounding command, "(Don't) COME (to me. Just wag your tail, lay down, turn over on your back and someone will be there shortly to scratch your fat little tummy.)"
(5) LAY DOWN: But of course! Scratch my tummy?
